We Believe in the Power of Roots RISE Foundation (Rushimela Indigenous Knowledge and Scientific Education Foundation) is a community-led movement born in the heart of Melghat, Maharashtra. Our mission is simple yet powerful — to preserve the voices, stories, and languages of India’s tribal communities, ensuring that their wisdom continues to guide future generations. We bring together tribal elders, researchers, educators, scientists, and volunteers who share one belief: true education begins in one’s mother tongue.
Through our flagship initiative RUSHIMELA (ऋषिमेळा), RISE Foundation achieved a historic milestone officially recognized by Guinness World Records—a celebration of culture, community, and impact.
International acknowledgement of community-powered heritage work.
A collaboration of tribal communities, volunteers, and partners.
Celebrating indigenous languages, traditions, and wisdom.
Part of a larger vision of inclusive growth and identity.
More than 40% of India’s tribal languages are endangered. Each language lost is not just a dialect — it’s the loss of an entire worldview, a way of understanding life, nature, and community. At RISE Foundation, we stand against this silence. We believe in giving every tribal child the chance to learn, dream, and grow — in their own language. “The extinction of a language is the extinction of a culture.”
Research. Documentation. Revival. Education. We connect tribal communities with educators and researchers to preserve linguistic diversity. Through books, digital archives, art, and storytelling, we make language learning joyful and accessible — keeping culture alive for the next generation.
Numbers reflect the scale of our work across languages, students, villages and schools.
